As you look at the polished face of this specimen, you can clearly see the rhythmic, concentric banding that characterizes high-quality chalcedony. These bands are essentially a timeline of the mineral’s growth, with each layer representing a different pulse of mineral deposition. The colors are completely natural, ranging from soft translucent greys to milky whites and deep earth tones.
