Irradiated Pakistani Fluorite Specimen

$35.00 USD

Irradiated Pakistani Fluorite Specimen, also commonly called ,Black Rose fluorite, is a specimen primarily found in regions of Pakistan. Admired for its deep, often near-black coloration in daylight, these unique fluorites transform under ultraviolet light, revealing a stunning and contrasting fluorescence that typically ranges from vibrant red to passionate pink, sometimes even displaying blue hues in specimens from Pakistan. Interestingly, while the rich colors and fluorescence are often naturally occurring due to trace elements and natural irradiation within the Earth, some Black Rose Fluorite specimens may undergo artificial irradiation to enhance or modify their color and fluorescence, a practice that can sometimes be challenging to definitively identify without specialized testing.

With very prolonged Longwave (LW) UV exposure, the red UV reactivity may fade to a blue color. Sometimes, you can 'recharge' it using Shortwave (SW) UV light, bringing the red color back, but it's hit or miss and not consistent.
