Smithsonite Specimen from Ojuela Mine
I was excited to get this lot of Smithsonite Specimen from Ojuela Mine. It's not often you come across them from the Ojuela mine with this particular olive-green color, and the sparkle on these is just out of this world. The sparkle doesn't show up well under the LED camera lighting.
Under any kind of direct light, the surface of these specimens absolutely comes alive. It's a classic botryoidal (bubbly) formation, but it's coated in a layer of micro-crystals that create this incredible shimmering, almost wet look. The color is a rich, earthy olive that feels really distinct from the more common blue or green Smithsonites. It’s a very honest and beautiful color that looks fantastic in a display case. Some of these also include Pyrite and Galena as well. These are definitely a heavy material!
