Kunzite Rough Specimen
Kunzite is a beautiful and relatively modern gemstone, being a pink to violet variety of the mineral spodumene (LiAlSi₂O₆). Its delicate color is due to trace amounts of manganese within its crystal structure.
Kunzite crystals often form as elongated, striated prisms that can be quite large. It has a vitreous luster and is known for its pleochroism, meaning it can display different colors or shades of color when viewed from different angles. This requires skilled cutting to orient the gem to best show its most desirable color
These is a fun rough stone that can be used for cutting or to display as-is. These have a brilliant orange UV reaction under Longwave (LW) UV light
